Membership
New members are always welcome - membership being dependent on an informal audition and maintaining a good balance between all the voices.
Membership is by annual subscription and members are encouraged to participate in all events, not just one particular evening.
The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm in the Bridport United Church Hall. Our current season started on 13th September 2011 with the AGM.

PRESS RELEASE OCTOBER 2011
The New Elizabethan Singers are looking forward to Dorset's part in next year's Olympic celebrations. As something of a curtain-raiser to the sailing events, they will be performing "A Sea Symphony" by Ralph Vaughan Williams in St.Mary's Church, South Street, Bridport at 7.30 pm Saturday 18th February.
In addition to the choir, there will be professional soloists and, of course, a full orchestra. With lots of "white sails bellying in the wind", "waves spreading far as the eye can reach", "dashing spray, and winds blowing", it should be a lively performance.
To close on an unashamedly patriotic and nautical note, the evening will end in "Last Night of the Proms" fashion with "Jerusalem", "Land of Hope and Glory" and "Rule Britannia".
Rehearsals for the Sea Symphony have just started. For further information, please contact Kathy Lee on 01308 898223
Friends of the New Elizabethan Singers

The N.E.S. was founded by Bruce Critchinson in 1966, with a membership of 28. Since that time the choir has performed most of the music in the amateur choir repertoire, including such
varied works as Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicholas Cantata, Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Handel’s Messiah and Duruflés Requiem.
We usually perform 2 concerts a year, Spring and Winter. These concerts are not cheap to stage and deplete our funds. It is obvious that we need to raise money by any means available if we are to continue to perform these exciting works.
We are therefore looking to recruit ‘Friends of the New Elizabethan Singers’ and hope that you may feel able to support us.

As a Friend of The New Elizabethan Singers you will receive:
A free ticket for each of our winter and spring concerts.
A Newsletter to keep you informed of special events
Ticket prices are currently £10 per concert.
Under 16s are admitted free.
If you are interested, we are asking for a donation of £25 annually by cash or cheque.
Please support the New Elizabethan Singers and enable us to continue to perform the major choral works of all the great composers.
